  • Ice Safety Advice

    Tue 03 Jan 2023

As it's a cold, crisp end to the year and as recent events have tragically shown, this can bring its own hazards. If you haven’t got any link to ice safety advice on your website or social media accounts,  please add the following link to help keep everyone safe this winter.

  • Daily testing for Contacts of COVID-19

    Fri 17 Dec 2021

From 14 December, a new national approach to daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 has been introduced. All adults who are fully vaccinated and children aged 5 to18 years and 6 months, identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 – whether Omicron or not – should take an LFD test every day for 7 days instead of self-isolating. Children under five years old do not need to take part in daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 and do not need to isolate.

Once notified by Test and Trace as a close contact, all eligible staff, pupils and students are strongly recommended to take a LFD each day for 7 days and report the results through the online reporting system and to their setting. If they test negative, they can continue to attend their education setting. Outside of the education setting, they should continue to follow national guidance. This approach should also be adopted over the Christmas holiday and on return in January.

  • Children in Need Day - 19/11/2021

    Tue 16 Nov 2021

Friday, 19th November 2021 is Children in Need Day, and we at Salford Priors CofE Academy will be assisting in raising awareness. In doing so, all pupils do not need to wear school uniform but can dress in Pudsey / CiN colours and we ask if you could contribute a recommended donation of £2 for this worthy cause.

  • Dress-Up for Charity Fundraising Day

    Wed 06 Oct 2021 L Friedmann

    Friday, 8th October 2021

Your child(ren) can come to school dressed in cow colours (black, white, brown etc.) or even as a cow to commemorate Harvest and our support for the ‘Send a cow’ charity (https://sendacow.org/) on Friday, 8th October.

We ask that for each child dressing up, where possible, the family donates between £1 and £5 – with a standard donation of £2 per child. We will collect ‘cash’ in a pot on the day and then put it into a short period of ‘isolation’ before banking it. For all money raised in this manner, we will donate directly using our school credit card to the church’s Just Giving account for ‘Send a cow’.

    Many thanks in advance

    Mrs Dhugga

  • Harvest Family Church Service

    Dear Pupils and Parents/Carers

“Send a Cow” is a force for change in rural Africa. Coronavirus is affecting us all. “Send a Cow” is teaching families life-saving hygiene and sanitation techniques to keep them healthy, as well as ensuring they grow enough food to be self-sufficient - during this crisis and beyond.

    Send a Cow | Home

For our Harvest offerings this year, we have joined with St. Matthew’s Church and, between us, we hope to raise enough funds to send at least one cow! There is a JustGiving page set up: Sarah Folkes is fundraising for Send a Cow (justgiving.com) so if you'd like to contribute directly to that page you can do so easily even if you can't be in church for the Harvest Family Church Service on Sunday 3rd October at 10.30am.

Please note that KS2 children will be walking down to the church for our school’s Harvest Service on the morning of Tuesday 5th October. KS1 and EYFS will be celebrating Harvest at school. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we are not able to invite parents to join us this year but it is really lovely and a positive sign that our children can once visit the church.
