National Guidance notes
Dear Parents /Carers
Good morning. I hope you and your families are keeping well during this global and national crisis.
I am working very closely with a number of families to safe-guard their children and to allow key workers to continue their critical work where they have no other means of caring for their children. In order to keep school open for as long as possible and in order to keep as many of our children as safe as possible, we have had to assess the risks for each child/family of staying at home or coming to school. I ask for your understanding and support of these decisions during such difficult times.
Children with EHCPs – National Guidance
“Those pupils with an EHC plan should be risk-assessed by their school to decide whether they need to continue to be offered a school place in order to meet their needs, or whether they can safely have their needs met at home. This could include, if necessary, carers therapists or clinicians visiting the home to provide any essential services. Many children and young people with EHC plans can safely remain at home.”
