Learning in the Reception Class (EYFS)

Our reception class provides a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which our pupils continue the learning initiated at home and their pre-school setting. They develop further as an individual and learn to be part of a bigger social group. Through a carefully structured play based curriculum, we aim to promote all aspects of development; social, emotional, creative, physical and intellectual.

The EYFS outdoor area is used for a variety of teaching and learning experiences including drawing, writing and literacy based play.

Children's experiences are also enhanced by the educational visits, that take place throughout the year, and participation in Forest School.
