Welcome
Welcome from the Headteacher
Thank you for visiting the website for our beautiful, small, rural school, a place where we are always determined to provide an ever-improving, nurturing and excellent educational offering. Our talented staff strive to maintain a purposeful and stimulating environment, where each child feels respected and valued, and is encouraged to achieve their true potential.
As a Church of England school, we enjoy a strong and distinctive Christian and family-based ethos. Salford Priors became an Academy in 2018 with the Diocese of Coventry Multi-Academy Trust. We are also fortunate enough to have our very own Family Link Worker, who helps to support all of our children and local families. We believe that our Christian values and caring approach to educating children are essential in providing a happy and successful school, where we warmly welcome children and families of any or no faith. We are extremely proud of all our pupils.
We are very fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and to be at the heart of the village community of Salford Priors, enjoying close links to St. Matthew’s Church, Salford House (care for the elderly) and other local businesses. As Headteacher, it is my pleasure and privilege to be able to share our prospectus with you here and to invite you to visit us in person.
Yours in learning,
Salford Priors CofE Academy staff
History of Salford Priors C of E Academy
Salford Priors Church of England Academy, was originally founded in 1656 by William Perkins, a visionary local benefactor who wanted to provide the best possible education for all the children in the village of Salford Priors.
The original school building, consisting of two classrooms and living accommodation for the school's Headteacher and family, dates back to 1860. In the 1960s, two classrooms and a large hall were added to the original building. Since 2000, two more spacious classrooms, a number of small learning areas, along with a new school office and Headteacher's office have been built. In September 2015, funding from Warwickshire County Council and the Parish Council enabled us to refurbish and restock our library. The Perkins Educational Foundation have also generously supported our Early Years' outdoor area and a field-based trim trail to be installed in the Autumn, 2024. Salford Priors also has an on-site Forest School, a playground and large playing field, providing plenty of space for playtimes and outdoor activities.
The school has a longstanding, valuable partnership and a close working relationship with Salford Priors Rainbow Playschool, a private nursery based in the school building and sited next to our Reception Class. This helps the children who join us from the Playschool to have a smooth and seamless transition from nursery to school. Rainbow Playschool also offers before and after-school wrap-around care for the Academy's children. Contact: rainbowplayschool365@gmail.com
Today, Salford Priors Church of England Academy forms an important part of the Salford Priors village community. We are very proud of our close links with St Matthew’s Church, the Parochial Church Council and the Parish Council. Christian values are at the heart of our school ethos and we meet for daily acts of worship. These provide opportunities for reflection and exploration of belief, drawing on the whole of the curriculum and celebrating all aspects of life in school.
