Welcome

Welcome

At Salford Priors, we are a small rural school, surrounded by beautiful countryside and located at the centre of our village.   Every child is known, valued, and encouraged to thrive and we provide a nurturing environment where children are safe, cared for, and inspired to learn.

Guided by our Christian vision — Rooted, Growing, Thriving — we are committed to helping every child develop academically, socially, morally, and spiritually. Rooted in love and faith, we encourage children to grow in hope and courage, and to thrive in light and harmony. Our values of love, forgiveness, courage, peace, hope, and faith are lived out daily in our classrooms, collective worship, and relationships.

We are proud of our talented staff, our strong links with St. Matthew’s Church and the wider community, and our place within the Diocese of Coventry Multi-Academy Trust. Together, we provide an excellent education shaped by Christian values and enriched by opportunities that help children develop into confident, compassionate, and resilient young people — ready to embrace “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).

We warmly invite you to explore our website, visit us in person and experience what makes our school wonderfully special.

History of Salford Priors C of E Academy

Salford Priors Church of England Academy, was originally founded in 1656 by William Perkins, a visionary local benefactor who wanted to provide the best possible education for all the children in the village of Salford Priors.

The original school building, consisting of two classrooms and living accommodation for the school's Head Teacher and family, dates back to 1860.  In the 1960s, two classrooms and a large hall were added to the original building. Since 2000, two more spacious classrooms, a number of small learning areas, along with a new school office and Head Teacher's office have been built.

In September 2015, funding from Warwickshire County Council and the Parish Council enabled us to refurbish and restock our library. The Perkins Educational Foundation have also generously supported our Early Years' outdoor area and a field-based trim trail to be installed in the Autumn, 2024. Salford Priors also has an on-site Forest School, a playground and large playing field, providing plenty of space for playtimes and outdoor activities.

Today, Salford Priors Church of England Academy forms an important part of the Salford Priors village community. We are very proud of our close links with St Matthew’s Church, the Parochial Church Council and the Parish Council.  Christian values are at the heart of our school ethos and we meet for daily acts of worship. These provide opportunities for reflection and exploration of belief, drawing on the whole of the curriculum and celebrating all aspects of life in school.
